What we've been up to!

Last weekend was the the end of the deer hunt, so Hunter and I were home alone again. Jess left Thursday night and got home early Sunday afternoon. Friday night we headed over to my parent's house. My mom gave all us kids this same ghost last Halloween and it's one of Hunter's favorite things this year. If you squeeze it's hand, he dances around and sings a song! The first time Hunter squeezed his hand and he started singing/dancing, Hunter gave me this big surprise face and smiled. He loves it!

I took him outside to play in the leaves, but it took a little coaxing to get him interested. What a cheeser!

Just raking the leaves. Grandpa would have really loved if we really would have raked all the leaves:). We just played in them though!

My parent's have this scooter and Hunter LOVES it!! He either just stands on it and will sometimes let you push him, or he straddles it and walks around with it. But he LOVES it!!
Friday night Hunter slept at Grant and Carol's, because I had to work on Saturday adn Grandma Carol was so nice to watch him. But, by surprise I was put on-call, so I did sleep until 10 a.m. and then I headed down to Carol's around noon. Carol, Gentry, Holly, Hunter, and I went to lunch at Texas Roadhouse and it was delicious!
Then we made sugar cookies in the afternoon and just hung out! Hunter really liked those sugar cookies! But who doesn't like sugar cookies!! I ate way more than my fair share!! Sometimes we'd joke that an arm or a head broke off of a cookie, so we just HAD to eat that one:)! They were delicious!!
Sunday was Stake Conference, and I really wanted to go, but Hunter started with a yucky sounding cough in the middle of the night, so I didn't want Hunter to be coughing around everyone. Sunday afternoon we headed over to my parent's house for dinner. But before I could get Hunter into the car, he ran over to his trike. This is his new favorite thing to do outside!! He LOVES to ride this trike from Tracen and Trevor. His legs aren't quite long enough to reach the pedals, but he just pushes himself along with his feet. He gets going pretty fast and has turfed it a few times. These pictures are similar, but they're all cute!

After Sunday dinner, my mom was so nice to come help me take some fall pictures of Hunter. He wasn't too into taking pictures, he never really is. I'm hoping that will change one day. I did get some cute ones, but this is my favorite!!

And we finally celebrated Jason's birthday!! What a cute family!! Happy birthday Jas!! We love you!!

Some fun new things Hunter's doing and things to remember about being pregnant!!

Last weekend was the opening of the deer hunt. I had to work on Saturday, but was home on Sunday. Pictures to come, if they're appropriate:)! Jess took the camera, so you never know:). Last Saturday night, Hunter had a stinky diaper and I've been trying to teach him to plug his nose and say "stinky, " well I was saying it, and he finally said it repeatedly. It was so cute!! Then on Sunday night, I was sitting in the recliner rocking him, and we were getting ready to say our prayers and I told him to watch me and I folded my arms. I repeated it a couple times, telling him at the same time to fold his arms and he did!! It didn't last through the prayer, but it was so cute!! Then he also said "Amen" after I repeated it to him a few times, and then he just laughed!! I'm amazed everyday at the things he knows and the new things he does!!! I JUST LOVE THIS KID!!!! And I can't wait to have another one to love!!!
They're at it again . . .Carol was so nice to pick Hunter up from daycare after work on Monday, since Jess was hunting, and these are just a couple pics I just saw on the camera. Not really sure who was behind it, but what a cutie!! I think those are Gentry's boots, I think!

I never really wrote about how I was feeling with this pregnancy compared to last, but I need to document it somewhere.
-I've definitely been more sick with this one. I was nauseated with Hunter, but never threw up. I've thrown up twice so far with #2. A lot of people say it must be a girl. I don't really know, because now I have an 18 month old to chase around and take care of, and I definitely can't/don't sleep as much as I did with Hunter. Guess we'll see! From about 6 weeks to 10 weeks, it was all I could do to get out of bed and lay on couch adn watch Hunter play and Jorie when she was here, but things are getting much better!!
-I hate brushing my teeth when I'm first pregnant, I dry heave almost every time (same both times). And that was the cause of one of my throwing up episodes this time.
-With Hunter as long as I ate, I felt pretty good. With this one, almost NOTHING sounds good (at least until about about 2 weeks ago) but I eat because I know I have to and then I still feel sick to my stomach. However, Mac 'n Cheese and gold fish were life savers in the beginning!!!
-Otter pops are to die for this time!!!
-I craved McD's, mostly french fries and diet coke last time, this time I can eat it, but this time Wendy's fries and chicken nuggets are heavenly along with Old Grist Meal. Diet Coke doesn't really taste that good this time.
-I LOVE milk and drink LOTS of it when I'm pregnant, this has been the same.
-Loved eggs last time, taste ok this time, but I don't crave them (I know, I like things most people hate when they're pregnant!)
-I lost weight with this one, I actually made it to just barely under my pre-pregnancy weight with Hunter. It's amazing what you'll lose when you can't eat or drink anything. Don't worry, it will come back!!
-Couldn't eat cold cereal last time at all, and I pretty much lived on it before I was pregnant with Hunter!! I eat quite a bit with this one!!
-This is definitely my second child. I'm already showing and I'm only 12.4 weeks!!! It depends on the day, the time of day, and what I've eaten, but I'm definitely bigger!!! I can't remember when I started to show with Hunter, but I think I was at least 16 weeks or so!
-Last time I loved Mandarin Gardens and we ate there so much! I'm still waiting for it to even kind of sound good!!
-I remember about 14 weeks I was an endless pit. I could eat so much before getting full. I love that part of it!! I just hate when it catches up me in the end! The endless pit must be starting though, I just had 2 fried eggs and a piece of toast for lunch, and I was still hungry, so I had another egg and another piece of toast and some milk of course!!
Well, I'll continue to keep you posted on how things are going!!! So far, so good!!

#2 IS ON THE WAY!!!!!!!

That's right!! We're going to have another baby!!! We are so excited!!! We told our families and some close friends a couple weeks ago, because I didn't think I could hide it in St. George. But I wanted to wait for the ultrasound before we announced to everyone. So some of you already know. But we are SOOOOO excited!!! We had our first ultrasound on Tuesday, October 13th and all was well. Baby's heart rate was 178 bpm and I can't find Hunter's first ultrasound picture that shows what his heart rate was, but I'm searching. I'm just curious, it doesn't really mean anything, I just want to know. My due date is May 2nd, 2010!!! My cousin Megan is due with her 1st the same day, so that will be fun!! I wondered if they would changed my due date after the ultrasound, but he left it the same. By the ultrasound I was 10.4 weeks and by my due date I was 11.2 weeks, so not a huge difference. So, I'm 11.5 weeks today!!!
Here's how we told our family. "The redneck way," according to Carol:)!! We weren't really planning on telling them, so I thought I had time to buy a shirt, but it was Sunday afternoon, after conference and we just decided to tell them, because I know his family would have figured it out while we were in St. George. Any way, so Jess got creative with the duct tape. We went to my parent's house first and Jason and Lesley were there with their kids and I talked to Jer on our way over and they were going to be coming over, so it was perfect!! Hunter had his jacket on. and we just decided we'd let someone take it off. So after about 10 minutes or so, my dad finally took off Hunter's jacket in the kitchen. I was sitting at the counter eating some dinner and I saw my dad stare at the shirt a few different times, but never said anything. I finally had to go in the family room, because I was going to start laughing and couldn't help but smile. Then Hunter walked in to the living room where Jess, my bother Jason, and I were sitting. Jason asked what Hunter's shirt said and I told him I wasn't sure and that Jess had written something on it. He got up to go find Hunter and was smiling and ponted at me and asked, you're pregnant aren't you? I just laughed! At the same time my dad asked from the kitchen if there was some truth to the message on Hunter's shirt. So then they all knew except my mom. She was downstairs, so Lesley picked up Hunter and took him to give her a hug when she came back upstairs. Then my dad said, "come here Hunter, come give Grandpa a hug." It took my mom a few minutes, but she finally read it after Lesley held it out for her. Jer and Ton got there right after and they too read the shirt with a little cueing from my mom. A little bit later we headed back out to Paradise to tell Jess's fam. Same scenario and Gentry and Carol walk up to to the kitchen from the family room, took of his jacket, were then heading back downstairs when I heard Carol say, "what does his shirt say?!" And that's how the story goes!!
Here's a more readable picture of the shirt

And here's our ultrasound pictures!!! Sorry they're not the best pictures, they are pictures of the pictures!!

We are so dang excited!!!! So I go back in 4 weeks!! I'll keep the updates coming!!!

St. George!!!

This past weekend, October 10-12th, Holly, Gentry, Hunter, and I headed down to St. George to watch the ladies in the Senior World Games!! Carol, Carol Smith, and Tammie Olsen were down there while we were there, Ev came Sunday afternoon. We left Friday morning, had a few stops in Sandy, and were then on our way to St. George. We ate lunch in Fillmore and then Hunter finally took a nap, but woke up about 20 minutes before we got to St. George and cried the rest of the way. The poor kid has traveled so much lately, and in a few weeks, Hunter and I are driving to Cali with my parents for my cousin's wedding. We're leaving Thursday afternoon and coming home on Sunday!! I'm pretty sure we're going to be anti-road trip after that, at least Hunter will be!!! Friday night we ate dinner at The Brick Oven. It was good, except Holly, Gentry, and I didn't get our food until after the other three were done eating. We got a discount which was nice. And Holly had some delicious Chicken and Spaghetti, you'll just have to ask her about it!!! After dinner we hung out and played 31 and Hand and Foot. Saturday morning we got up early to go watch the games. Carol and Tammie did speed walking!! And this was serious stuff!!
Her they are, both in pink, walking over to the starting line with a new friend they made.

Gentry, Holly, Hunter, and Sister in the back on her phone waiting for the race to start. It was so dang cold!!!

Hunter and Mom!

And they're off!!! You see the two in the front, they're from Barbados and they were fast!!

Nice work ladies!!!!

And after the race!! They both did so good and are planning to do it again next year!! So, that means another trip next year!! After the race, we had breakfast at the house and then played more Hand and Foot while Hunter took a nap. Saturday afternoon we went shopping to the outlets and got some fun stuff. Then we ended up at Outback for dinner!! It was delicious!!! I was going to get a picture with everyone, but I was more focused on keeping Hunter happy, quiet, and under control!!
This picture is at Outback though!! Hunter grabbed my piece of bread that had butter on it, so he ended up with a butter mustache then he sheesed it for me. What a stinker!! I dragged Holly and Gentry with me to get some Nielson's Frozen Custard to get some Lemon Custard. I been down here 2 other times in the past year and hadn't gotten any, so it was a neccesity!! And it was delicious!!! Hunter had a bath when we got back in Grandma's big tub. We turned on the jets, but He didn't like them at all. The bath was fun though. Hunter played and watched Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and we of course played more Hand and Foot!! Then Sunday morning we just relaxed, played another game of Hand and Foot and then we hit the road!!! It was such a fun trip and an exciting drive home!! On the way down, I found a vest at The Nordstrom Rack that I liked, but they didn't have it in my size, but they did at the store in Sugarhouse. Holly and Gent were nice enough to let me go there, but we took the long way, because we got off too early. Then in Centerville, Holly watched a guy in front of us in the fast lane hit the guard rail and then drive on the shoulder of the freeway for miles, which then turned into a chase with 4 police cars. They got him pulled over after a few miles and we were very thankful that we were safe, and nothing big happened!! We made it home safe and sound adn it was back to reality!!

Hunter's New Little Slide and Outside Fall Work

Lesely's sister gave us this little slide and Hunter loves it!! Here's a bunch of pictures of him playing on it!!

Look at that cute little wrangler bum!!! He loves to try and climb up the slide!!

Hunter on the steps with our pumpkins and corn stalks!!! Mom harvested all the pumpkins last year (because he had a broken ankle and was non-wt bearing on crutches) in the rain with dad laughing at me (because they were freakin' huge and slippery), so he harvested all these by himself this year!! I did help with the corn stalks. I love this time of year!!!!

Hunter's 18 month Check Up

Hunter had his 18 month appointment and all was well!! He weighs 23 lbs and is 33 in tall. I don't have the paper with me that tells me the percentiles, but he's like 17th for weight and 70th for height. He did have to get two shots, so that's never fun. I'm going to take some pictures of him one of these days, so those are to come. Some of the fun things about Hunter right now are:
-He's a jabber box.
-He's gives the best kisses. He has some little farm animals and gives them great big smack kisses.
-He loves talking on the phone!
-He loves to do buckles. He'll stand at his high chair and do the buckles and then whine for me to undo them and he'll do this for a long time!!
-He really loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse!! I hope he keeps liking Mickey Mouse, because we're going to Disneyland this next July with my family!! I'm so excited!!
-He loves the tub. When I start the water, he just stands at the tub waiting and if I take him out of the bathroom to get him undressed, he just screams.
-He absolutely loves to be outside. If I ask him if he wants to go outside and to find his shoes, he'll get his shoes and sit down and wait for me to put them on. And then he just cries when we have to come inside. Last year, when he was just a little baby, he was the same. If he was upset, we'd take him outside and he'd calm right down.
-He know where his ears, nose, mouth, belly, hair, toes, fingers, and teeth are. He know where his eyes are, ut it takes a few tries to find them. He's so smart!!
-He loves his independence, and doesn't like help if he's doing it on his own.
-He's started with this little mischievious smirk, smile thing. I'm still yet to get a picture of it, but I was watching our wedding video, and there's a picture of Jess on there with that same little smirk. I'm going to have to post of picture of both.
-Words he says: mom, dad, bye, hello, dog, outside, cardshack, elk (he said that the day of his appt, right after we got home from Yellowstone. And he says it so cute), thanks, no, toodles (from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse), and I'm sure there's more but that's all I can think of. And he says a whole bunch of stuff I can't understand.
-Some of his faovorites foods: mac 'n cheese, spaghettios, froot loops, McD's double cheeseburgers (he eats the whole thing by himself), chicken nuggets, bananas, capri suns, fruit snacks, corn (especially on the cob), green beans, and more.
Hunter, we love you sooooooooo much are so blessed to have you in our lives!!! You are a little bundle of joy!! Everyday is so much fun and I'm amazed with all he picks up and learns!!!

Annual Yellowstone Trip!!!

The last weekend of September, we headed up to Jackson/Yellowstone with Kevin, Jen, and Jorie. My dad was so nice to let us borrow his vehicle, so we could all ride in one car and not have to pay for a rental. We were definitely packed in tightly; the boys were in the front, Jen and I were in the middle, and the kids were in the 3rd row. We picked Jess up from work and stopped in Smithfield to grab some dinner. Hunter had fallen asleep in Logan and woke up at McDonald's and I'm pretty sure he screamed for like 1 1/2 hours straight. Everything I offered him, he just pushed away. I was really worried at this point that this was going to be a much longer trip than even anticipated. We finally got to a little town and got him out and calmed down, and after that, he was fine. We slept in Alpine the first night, went swimming, and the boys went and got us some yummy Subway sandwiches. Jorie and Hunter were running around the room like crazy and being so funny, I think they were SOOO happy to be out of their carseats. After swimming and dinner, these two little stinkers had a bath. I was nervous about all of us sleeping in one open hotel room, because Hunter just usually has to lay in his crib and cry for a bit to go to sleep and if he can see you, then it makes it worse. But we turned off the lights and laid him down in the pack 'n play and he cried for a minuted and went to sleep, and Jorie slept with Kevin and Jen. We all survived the night!!

Saturday morning he got up, ate at the continental breakfast, and then we headed to Jackson. We got some groceries and a little more breakfast, some gas, and then we were off to Yellowstone. The kids were both tired, so we were hoping they would fall asleep and have a good nap! This was a beautiful sight while we were driving!!! Don't they look peaceful!! We found out there was a fire in the park and the main entrance to West Yellowstone was closed and the road to get to Mammoth was open at the time, but could close at anytime. We decided to drive all the way to Mammoth and we were really hoping we wouldn't get stuck up there or in the park somewhere, or have to detour through Bozeman, MT to get back to West. The boys were feeling adventurous and thought it would be fun if we got stuck in the park, but Jen and I were a little worried.

We stopped at the falls, had some lunch, and walked around. These two pics are pretty much the same, you just can't see Hunter's face in the first one. I was loving Jorie's wild hair!!!

Our little family!! Hunter was fascinated by the falls and all that water!!

I think Hunter was teasing Jorie. Of course they both wouldn't look at me:)!!

We finally made it to Mammoth after a lot of driving and got some yummy ice cream. Here's the dad's and the kids walking to find the elk.

Dad and Hunter

You can barely see that bull elk behind these cars and kind of under the tree, but we got chased by this big bugger, and it was scary!!! He had been laying down on the other side of a brick wall that's a little further back and had been bugeling. Jen and I were talking to a couple of rangers and Kevin and Jess were standing on the stairs of the tall building in the very back. He stood up and looked around so the rangers quickly started backing away, so I did too. Kevin, Jen, Jorie ran up on the stairs with the rangers, and Jess and I were heading away to get behind some of these cars. I tried not to run, but was walking very quickly. Then I looked over to the right and noticed Jess was between the bull and a calf and that bull was eyeing Jess up and walking toward him. He said he wasn't scared, but I was crapping my pants!! Jen asked the rangers if the doors to that building opened and the ranger said, "TRY THEM." That's not good when the rangers are scared. We all lived, but that was definitely too close for comfort.

Here's the bull with his cows

Hunter was about ready to be done, if you can't tell

And the three of us!! I know I look like I'm 5 months prego, but I think it's just how I'm standing (I hope) , I guess I need to do more ab exercises or eat less:)!

Aren't they cute, they were holding hands. They were really so good for being in the car. We left Mammoth to head back to West, but had to go clear down by Old Faihtful and back up to West, and we were just hoping the road was going to be open. It had been closed, then down to one lane and people were being escorted through with a pilot car. We drove from 9ish a.m. to 9ish p.m!! It was a long day!!

You can barely see it, but there's a nice bull on the right, and a bunch of cows on the left.

Sunday we headed to Old Faithful!! Hunter loved running around!! We had to wait forever for it to start. I think it started like 45 minutes late!! And boy was it cold!!

Hunter loved riding around on Jess's shoulders!

Just messin' around with dad. Jess kept pretending to drop Hunter off his shoulders and Hunter just laughed!!!

Watching Old Faithful!!

Chillin' outside the Old Faithful gift shop. Hunter loved these rocking chairs! After Old Faithful we were on the road again, and back to Jackson, and then to home.

Hunter and Mom in front of the Buffalo in Jackson Hole!

And here we are under the antlers!! We got some Harry Potter Jelly Beans from the candy store (a tradition - then we pass them around a have to taste test them, some are good and some aren't. You just never know what you're going to get!! We walked around Jackson for just a bit, and then we were on our way home!! It was fun so much fun, but I think next year it's just the adults!!!
